Selectmen approve charter amendment and authorize foreclosure property sale

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of March 12, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Board of Selectmen approve charter amendment and authorize foreclosure property sale. The board unanimously approved a charter amendment raising the threshold for Representative Town Meeting petitions from 20 to 50 signatures, following a 90-minute RTM debate that modified the original proposal. First Selectman Fred Camillo called it progress toward an even higher threshold the board had originally sought.

The board also unanimously approved referral of seven town foreclosure properties to the Planning and Zoning Commission for potential municipal improvement designation. Attorney Owen Weaver said the board would select from highest bids while conditioning terms as needed.
