Town Meeting approves $522M budget with park project trimmed

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich approves FY2027 budget totaling $522 million in general fund spending. The Representative Town Meeting, with 208 members present at Central Middle School and via Zoom, rejected three floor motions to cut $40.9 million in appropriations but approved a $100,000 deletion from the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park Redevelopment project on a 136-61 vote. The meeting adopted a comprehensive spending package that includes $92.2 million for capital projects and approved two bonding resolutions totaling $71.038 million for capital infrastructure and sewer improvements.
Debate over an automated traffic enforcement system resolution resulted in an amendment by the Legislative and Rules Committee that passed 174-6.
