Board Declares Snow Emergency, Enacts Parking Ban

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of January 22, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Board of Selectmen declares snow emergency and parking ban. The Board unanimously approved emergency parking restrictions to take effect after midnight Saturday during an expected major snowstorm. First Selectman Fred Camillo, Selectwoman Lauren Rabin, and Selectwoman Rachel Khanna approved the measure on request from Chief of Police James Heavey, who argued the ban would allow the Department of Public Works to keep roads clear and reduce vehicle traffic during winter conditions.

Emergency Management Director Joseph Laucella confirmed the DPW was adequately prepared with supplies and staffing, with potential activation of the Emergency Operations Center if needed.
