Investment committee seeks quarterly reports on OPEB portfolio trading

CT GREENWICH — Investment committee requests quarterly reports on OPEB portfolio performance. The Investment Advisory Committee and OPEB Trust Board discussed the OPEB portfolio's 2.07 percent first-quarter loss, which underperformed the benchmark by 22 basis points and trails the benchmark by over 200 basis points over one year. Morgan Stanley representatives discussed investment strategy and market conditions.

Committee members noted that Neuberger Berman, which manages the Retirement Board's portfolio, provides clearer reporting and presentations that are easier to follow. The committee agreed to explore alternative investments like commodities for the OPEB portfolio.
