Nathaniel Witherell seeks interim capital funding for pipe project

Nathaniel Witherell Board · Meeting of January 26, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Nathaniel Witherell Board seeks interim capital funding for major pipe project. Executive Director John Mastronardi told the Board that the pipe project, the facility's largest capital issue, requires between $539,260 and $696,590 in additional funding to cover total estimated costs of $1.19 million to $1.33 million; leadership plans to request an interim appropriation from the BET Budget Committee on February 12. The Board also announced the appointment of John Anantharaj as Director of Nursing Services, replacing retiring Louise Comeau.

The facility recorded a $317,000 loss in December 2025 as average daily census declined to 156 residents, down 16 days from prior December, with leadership noting that revenue growth through higher census is the priority.
