Board approves spring recreation plans with record CEGCC participation

CT GREENWICH — Board hears recreation surge at Cohen Eastern Greenwich Civic Center with record skating attendance and 50-team spring softball program. Recreation Superintendent Tricia Troiano reported near-capacity enrollment across spring offerings as summer registration opens April 1, with Music and Art camps returning to Greenwich High School facilities. Director Joe Siciliano announced Planning and Zoning preliminary approval for the $41 million Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink replacement project, to operate as a self-supporting revolving fund modeled on the golf course; residents have 30 days to appeal to the Representative Town Meeting.

CEGCC pickleball courts are estimated for mid-May completion.
