Board of Human Services Approves Prior Minutes, Hears Settlement Updates

CT GREENWICH — Board of Human Services approves prior meeting minutes, receives program updates. Patty Roberts, Board Chair, presided as Commissioner Demetria Nelson reported the department's operating budget remains 14 percent under budget with expectations to finish the fiscal year approximately 10 percent below budget. Nelson noted that approximately $500,000 in opioid settlement funds will support prevention, treatment, education, and harm reduction initiatives, with additional settlements pending.
Youth Services Bureau Administrator Danielle Jean-Guillaume Sittol presented youth programming including a restorative justice diversion program for young people facing low-level offense charges.
