Fair Rent Commission reports doubled caseload in second year

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Fair Rent Commission reports doubled caseload in second year. The commission fielded 16 complaints in its second full year of operation, double the previous year, with five cases now open and at various resolution stages according to Commissioner Demetria Nelson and Fair Rent Commission Coordinator Camillo Lemos. Complaints have ranged from rent increases exceeding 45 percent to housing condition violations.
One case has been resolved through mediation. The commission provides anti-retaliation protections and special safeguards for seniors and persons with disabilities.
