Harbor Commission calls for restitution over missing moorings

Harbor Management Commission · Meeting of May 20, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Harbor Commission votes restitution for missing moorings after dredging. The Commission unanimously adopted a resolution stating that approximately 20 moorings adjacent to the dredged Greenwich Point channel were likely removed by dredging activity and that the Town should provide restitution to affected owners. The action comes after mooring owners complained of missing vessels following the December 2025 harbor dredging project.

The Commission also voted unanimously to direct staff to send a letter to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection opposing a dock proposal at 27 Nawthorne Road based on setback encroachments, and noted 32 applicants on the mooring wait list, up from 30.
