Board of Education proposes $3.6 million salary increase for FY27

Board of Estimate & Taxation Budget Committee · Meeting of February 5, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich schools review operating budget with $3.6 million salary increase for FY27. Budget Committee Chair Laura Erickson and fellow members reviewed the Board of Education's operating budget on February 5, noting a $3.6 million increase in personnel costs driven by union contracts, partially offset by 11.5 position reductions. Transportation costs will rise $2.5 million under the DATTCO contract, the sole vendor willing to bid given parking constraints.

The committee reviewed $85 million in capital priorities, including a $4 million redesigned pool project for Greenwich High School, and noted a projected $961,000 school lunch fund deficit for FY 2026-2027.
