Budget Committee trims mill rate increase from 6.01 to 4.7 percent

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Budget Committee reduces mill rate increase to 4.7 percent. The Board of Estimate and Taxation Budget Committee, led by Chair Laura Erickson, voted 4-0 to approve the FY2026-2027 operating budget with reductions of $1.1 million and the capital budget with reductions of $777,000. Combined with $4.76 million in new revenues across state aid, local fees, and investment income, the committee's actions reduce the mill rate increase projection from the initial 6.01 percent to 4.7 percent.
