Food scrap recycling bins slated for month's end installation

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Conservation Commission approves food scrap bin installation and park maintenance shift. The commission unanimously approved its March 6 meeting minutes and heard that 24-hour food scrap recycling bins are expected to be installed by month's end, pending DEEP design approval; a contractor for bin pickup and cleaning is ready to begin operations. Beth Evans, Director of Environmental Affairs, fielded questions about waste pickup at Living Hope Church farmers market.
Sue Baker reported that Binney Park's silt removal program has shifted from a three-year to a two-year cycle. Nancy Dickinson noted that GRAB/Waste Free Greenwich has diverted 390 tons of food waste.
