Agency approves 12 wetlands permits as application volume surges
Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency · Meeting of April 27, 2026
CT GREENWICH — Greenwich wetlands agency approves 12 residential and property permits in high-volume meeting. The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency, chaired by Elliot Benton, voted unanimously to approve applications including home reconstructions with pools, a foot bridge across a stream, and landscape restoration projects ranging from 5 feet to 100 feet from designated wetlands. Director Beth Evans reported that the surge in applications prompted the Agency to process routine applications like minor deer fence installations as administrative Consent items rather than full review.
The Agency maintained cease-and-correct enforcement orders on two unauthorized fence installations at 0 Highland Farm Road and 91 Cherry Valley Road and at 14 Dewart Road, with May 11 compliance deadlines.
