Agency approves 12 applications, emphasizes oak tree preservation

Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency · Meeting of May 18, 2026

CT GREENWICH — Greenwich Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Agency approves 12 residential applications with environmental conditions. The Agency, led by Chairman Elliot Benton, required protection of mature oak trees at two properties and expanded wetland restoration across approved sites. At 518-520 Indian Field Road, developers must preserve a 38-inch oak tree and install 27 replacement trees.

At 583 Lake Avenue, a 40-inch oak must be protected by relocating the proposed pool. The Agency approved meadow restoration requiring three-year invasive species removal and took action on violation correction cases at two additional properties addressing unauthorized tree removal.
